IT Systems Analyst

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the Systems Analyst is responsible for on time service delivery of Information Systems with a concentration on hardware, software and end user support for the Vantage Foods Camp Hill Service Center, while ensuring all systems are operating as intended. In the role you will wear a business analyst “hat” and prove capable of effectively capturing technical and functional requirements and developing formalized specifications of the third-party software and infrastructure partners. Additionally, the position necessitates a deep involvement in the planning, testing and implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems, which demands an individual with strong communication and documentation aptitude.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 Collaborate with the IT Manager to address and solve chronic (as in recurring or of a long duration) IT issues and concerns including the development of plans to address these matters.
 Play a key role with software development by presenting recommendations for improvement based upon insight gained through on-going involvement and support efforts.
 Working with key enterprise software vendor, Systems Integreater, and the IT Manager, establish a schedule for software reviews within the Service Center. This includes software installation, improvements and service delivery.
 Lead the implementation of software systems, while providing a point of contact internally as well as with key IT personnel within our customers’ IT departments.
 Create and Maintain systems documentation and provide training across departments within the Service Center.
 Participate in IT Steering Committee conference calls and discussions on system development projects, as well as performance status against IT related items contained in the business plan.
 Build and maintain a network of external contacts within the industry to gather and share up to date knowledge and information on related topics, processes and improvements. Using these contacts, research and share best practices on production system issues.
 Provide relief responsibilities for the IT Manager.
 Establish preventative maintenance programs for hardware, network, connectivity and related systems.
 Maintain adequate security where required on all systems and applications
 Take part in the purchase of equipment and sourcing of IT supplies ensuring cost effective pricing comparisons
 Administer servers when necessary and\or coordinate with contracted vendors and managed service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Degree/diploma in Computer Science or certification in Computer Technology or a minimum of two year’s equivalent work experience
 Experience in retail or food/meat industry an asset
 Knowledge of manufacturing, operations applications and workflow preferred
 Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, data base software and productivity tools (outlook, excel, power point & project)
 Ability to troubleshoot, resolve system challenges and carry relevant research
 Working technical knowledge of the latest operating systems, network protocols and standards, PCs and servers
